Rosehill Cemetery Mausoleum

Fall 2009 Studio with Professor Thomas Brock

Sponsored by Precast Concrete Institute, this assignment was to design a new mausoleum for Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago. Designed to honor the progression to the final resting place, the mausoleum is enhanced by being located on a hill above the rest of the cemetery. The two main approaches to the final resting place are through a memorial service space and up a gentle ramp that runs in front of the entire burial space. A small chapel set to the side allows for a quite place to remember loved ones.
